Queensland Games Festival – Let’s Play Streamer Summit June 26
Screen Queensland presents Let’s Play Streamer Summit, in association with Twitch and delivered by brIGDA.
Let’s Play is Australia’s first forum for streamers, games developers and content creators from around the country.
Running as an extension of the Queensland Games Festival’s Framework industry day on Friday 26 June, the summit connects Queensland games developers with leading Twitch streamers through panels, networking and a cutthroat Devs vs Streamers: Super Smash Bros. competition.
This new stream of the Queensland Games Festival recognises the importance of discoverability for local games and helps forge the bridges between the creatives and communities that play, share and connect through digital games.
The Let’s Play Streamer Summit is a highly specialised program for streamers and games developers with a limited attendance capacity. The event is free but numbers are limited and registration is essential:
Let’s Play Schedule
(1.30pm – 2.00pm) Registration | Let’s Play Streamer Summit
Acknowledgement of Country and Welcome to the inaugural Let’s Play Streamer Summit. Presented by Screen Queensland in partnership with the Brisbane International Game Developers Association Inc. and the Queensland Games Festival.
(2.00pm – 2.50pm) Become the Next Big Thing: Growing A Community on Twitch
So, you’ve had a Twitch account and camera for years and you have a love of games you want to share, but how can you actually make it as a streamer?
Join some of Australia’s leading streamers as we delve into the things people don’t tell you about the world of streaming so that you can find your niche, maximise your reach, and go from dreamer to streamer.
(3.00pm – 3.50pm) Dev? Streamer? Or Both?
The line between making games and making content is becoming increasingly blurred as developers turn to social media to connect with audiences and sell their games. But for those diving into the world of algorithms, AdSense and audience, is streaming income diversification? A creative outlet? Audience testing? Or just a distraction?
This panel explores the growth of YouTube and Twitch in games communities, balancing productivity with visibility, and why some developers succeed publicly while others disappear.
(4.00pm – 4.30pm) Game Devs Vs Twitch Streamers: Super Smash Bros
This one’s going to be bigger than the State of Origin. Who will win in this ultimate face-off between developers and streamers where we discover who really knows their gameplay? Join us for this fierce competition, where only one team will be leaving with bragging rights.

Queensland Games Festival – Framework Industry Panels June 26
A special event as part of the Queensland Games Festival to bring our local studios together for connection, discussion, panels and networking.
Studio to Studio Engagement
Framework is about community resilience. The event is based on an original concept by Tony Reed that invites our wider community of game developers to talk with each other about game dev business and issues both here in Queensland, in Australia – and the world.
Framework is free but numbers are limited and registration is essential – Our Humantix RSVP button below.
Framework Schedule
(4.30pm – 5.00pm) Welcome to Framework
Acknowledgement of Country and Welcome to Framework. Presented by brIGDA and the Queensland Games Festival organisers featuring Jens Schroeder (IGEA)
(5.00pm – 5.50pm) Panel – Survive, Adapt, Ship, Repeat
Hosted by: Jon Cartwright, GameConsulting
Indie developers are at the heart of the Australian and local QLD industry. Whilst hugely successful indie games like Unpacking and Untitled Goose Game garner headlines and sell millions, how do other developers continue to make games, and what’s the market like out there in these troubling times? Join 5 local QLD indie developers for a frank discussion about development, wishlists, sales, and what success looks like for them.
Featuring: Brent Waller (5 Lives Studios), Hay Lee (In Shambles Studio), Patrick Klug (Greenheart Games), Riley Neville (Sbug Games), Tex Barnes (Owl Machine).
Panel Speaker Bios
(6.00pm – 6.50pm) Panel – We Have No Idea How We Got Here (And Neither Will You)
Hosted by: Simon Slee, Xsolla
No two paths into the games industry look the same. Some people planned it. Most didn’t. Join five local experienced developers — across indie, mid-size, and AAA — for an honest look at the careers they actually had versus the ones they expected. From accidental pivots to deliberate bets, this panel is less a roadmap and more a field report from people who figured it out as they went.
Featuring: Cheryl Vance (Prideful Sloth), Louis Van Dyke (Growing Games), Cade Franklin (Spitfire Interactive), Morgan Jaffit (Big Sky Creative), Kendra McCarthy (Tantalus North)
